UU Congregation Considers 'Hidden Ways'

Back to the News Summaries
On Sunday, March 7, the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will hear a presentation entitled "The Hidden Ways of People," presented by John Vick. He points out that "until we can see the value in our differences, we can never truly bestow dignity on others. When 'too different' makes us 'too uncomfortable', we have difficulty finding the value and worth in others."

John Vick, Fatherhood and Poverty Advocate for the Department of Human Services in Pagosa Springs, will challenge us to look at those “blind spots” in ourselves that keep us from being able to embrace those radically different from us.

Mr. Vick is also a certified Bridges Out of Poverty trainer, and a veteran of over twenty years in the Navy.

Recently, the Children’s Religious Exploration program has been exploring the UU Seven Principles. This Sunday they are considering number six : "The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for all."   Exploring a map of the world will get us inspired to dance and share snacks from around the world.

The service begins at 10:30am in the Pagosah Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall, Unit B-15, Greenbriar Plaza. Turn east on Greenbriar Drive off of North Pagosa Boulevard by the Fire Station, then left into the back parking lot and look for the big sign.  All are welcome.
